Second Consecutive Semi-Final Finish Closes 2017 Season for Arthur Gallant Racing

READING, PA – (24 SEPT, 2017) Following a semi-final finish in Charlotte, NC seven days prior, driver Dan Page and the Arthur Gallant Racing team finished their 2017 season with another semi-final finish at the NHRA Dodge Nationals held at Maple Grove Raceway.

After qualifying in the seventh position in the sixteen car field with a 5.291 second elapsed time at 271 Miles Per Hour, Page took on number 11 qualifier Al Moeser, who was driving Dan Mercier’s Dan Page constructed A/Fuel Dragster. Page got off the starting line first and never trailed in a 5.28 to 5.38 second victory.

In the quarter-finals, Page again advanced, this time over the A/Fuel car of Karen Stalba. Page and the team again laid down a solid, consistent effort with a 5.33 second time at 272 miles per hour.

This set up a semi-final matchup with defending event champion Jackie Fricke, driving John Finke’s A/Fuel Dragster. This race was all over on the starting line as a -.049 second red-light start ended the weekend and the season for the team. Page lifted off the throttle early and coasted to a 6.31 second time at 151 miles per hour as Fricke ran 5.339 seconds for the win.

“My foot just decided it was time to go”, said Page. “By the early numbers, it would’ve been a pretty close race if I could’ve kept it green. I just feel bad for the guys. Arthur, Nick Stoms and John Hrinko did a great job with the car and I let them down.”

Reflecting on the season, Page was optimistic on how the team progressed over the course of the season. “We really got the car running well towards the end of the season. We feel like we made some big strides on the tune-up and being able to consistently run good in all types of conditions.”

Currently Page and the team sit 7th in the National points standings and 2nd in the East Regional standings.

For over 50 years, Arthur Gallant has been involved in drag racing as a driver, owner and tuner, setting records and winning championships, including the 2002 NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster National Championship and winning the 2016 U.S. Nationals in Top Alcohol Dragster.
