Semi-Final Finish for Arthur Gallant Racing at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – (17 SEPT, 2017) The Arthur Gallant Racing team rebounded from their first-round loss at the U.S. Nationals with a sold semi-final finish at the NHRA Carolina Nationals held at ZMax Dragway.

After three qualifying sessions, driver Dan Page ended up in the number eight qualifying position with a 5.309 Elapsed Time (ET) at 275 miles per hour after making steady improvements on all three qualifying runs.

In the first round of eliminations on Saturday afternoon, Page had a lightning quick .014 reaction time and steadily pulled away from opponent Jeff Veale for a 5.291 to 5.309 second victory.

This set up a second-round race with number one qualifier and third ranked driver in national points standings Megan Meyer in round two. Page again got off the starting line first and this time needed it, barely holding on for a 5.321 to 5.314 second holeshot victory.

Page again got off the starting line first by .070 in the semi-finals against Shawn Cowie, who is currently second place in national points. Unfortunately, a dropped cylinder slowed the car down enough to allow Cowie to get the win going 5.297 to Page’s 5.433.

“I have to say that the team did an awesome job this weekend,” driver Dan Page said reflecting on the weekend. “Arthur, Nick and John busted their tails working on the car with some pretty short turn-around times. I was busy tuning Chuck Little’s Pro Modified car so it was all on them and they really stepped up. Some of the guys on Josh Hart’s team came over to lend a hand also and we really appreciated the help.”

In team news, Gallant also promoted crew member Nick Stoms to Car Chief following the event. “Nick’s been with us for a few years and had worked really hard. He’s very smart and does a great job with everything we’ve asked of him. We’re happy to reward him for his efforts and look forward to having him race with us a long time.”

Next on the schedule for the team is the NHRA Dodge Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, PA this coming weekend, Sept. 22-24.

For over 50 years, Arthur Gallant has been involved in drag racing as a driver, owner and tuner, setting records and winning championships, including the 2002 NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster National Championship and winning the 2016 U.S. Nationals in Top Alcohol Dragster. In recent years chassis builder Dan Page has taken over the driving duties for the team.

The Arthur Gallant Racing team is proudly supported by NGK Spark Plugs, Boninfante Friction, Lucas Oil, Browell Bellhousing, Rage Fuel Systems, Moroso Performance Products, Hussey Copper Head Gaskets and Dan Page Race Cars.
