Arthur Gallant Racing Falls First Round at U.S. Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – (5 SEPT, 2017) There’s a reason that the U.S. Nationals is so hard to win. With all the best cars in the country in attendance and a grueling, stretched out schedule in varying conditions, the world’s most prestigious drag race has seen very few repeat winners over the years. Defending champion Dan Page and the Arthur Gallant Racing team found that out the hard way at the 2017 event.

After qualifying in the 6th position with a very quick 5.224 second elapsed time at 272.94 miles per hour, Page had to face #11 qualifier Kirk Wolf who snuck in the field on the fourth and final qualifying session with a 5.300 second ET after having problems in the prior three sessions.

A fuel system issue caused Page to slow from his qualifying pace, and Wolf and team stepped up to make their best run of the weekend to defeat the Arthur Gallant Racing team, 5.256 to 5.326.

“We just picked a bad time to have a bad run,” said Page. “The car had been running great all weekend and just had one little thing cost us. It’s disappointing given how well we’ve run lately and being back as defending champion, but we’ve already got the car fixed and ready for the next race.”

Next up the Arthur Gallant Motorsports team will be on the road for back to back races in Charlotte, NC (September 15-17) and Reading, PA (September 21-24).

The team also wanted to send its congratulations along to Josh Hart and team for winning the U.S. Nationals. Hart’s car was built by Dan Page Race Cars and Arthur Gallant’s brother Gene is Crew Chief, his brother Donny works on the car and long-time crew member Bobby Smullen does the clutch.
