Career Best ET, Runner-Up Finish Highlight Atco, NJ Regional Event for Arthur Gallant Racing

7 AUG, 2017

ATCO, NJ – For the second consecutive season, Arthur Gallant Racing and driver Dan Page left Atco Dragway with a runner-up finish.

With thirteen cars vying for the eight qualifying spots, the team qualified second with an impressive 5.240 second effort, just behind top qualifier Josh Hart’s 5.226. This set up a first-round match-up with Dan Mercier. Page left the starting line first and delivered a solid 5.255 second elapsed time (ET) at 276 miles per hour for the win.

In the semi-finals, Page again got off the starting line first against Jackie Fricke and thundered to a career best ET of 5.210 seconds at 278.17 MPH to defeat Fricke’s 5.259 second effort.

A rematch of the 2016 final round was set between Page and Hart, with the Arthur Gallant Racing team having lane choice. After getting off the starting line and passing the 60-foot mark in an ultra-quick 0.910 seconds, the car was marching hard but unfortunately pushing towards the centerline causing Page to lift off the throttle and could only watch as Hart marched on to victory with a very quick and consistent 5.244 second ET.

“We are really happy with the way the car ran this weekend,” said driver Dan Page. “Arthur had the car flying. In the final it was really hauling but the front wheels were off the ground which made it impossible to steer without taking my foot out of it. Josh and their team put down a good run and it would’ve been a really close race.”
The next event for the Arthur Gallant Motorsports team will be the Northeast Regional event at Cecil Country Dragway in Rising Sun, MD on August 18-20th.

For over 50 years, Arthur Gallant has been involved in drag racing as a driver, owner and tuner, setting records and winning championships, including the 2002 NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster National Championship and winning the 2016 U.S. Nationals in Top Alcohol Dragster. In recent years chassis builder Dan Page has taken over the driving duties for the team.
